Daniel White was born on May 22, 1912, in Malakoff, a suburb of Paris, France. His ancestors were Scottish. White grew up in West Yorkshire around the moors. His family moved to Paris while Daniel was still young and he was initially expected to enter the family textile business. After the company went under, White was fortunately able to pursue his interest in music instead.
During World War II he worked as an interpreter with the British army and was almost killed during the evacuation of Dunkirk. Following the war, Daniel played piano in nightclubs and cabarets. He composed his first film soundtrack in 1947. He wrote the jingles for numerous 1950s TV commercials, which included spots for Polo and Kit-E-Kat that were shown on British television.
Daniel composed the scores for many movies made by maverick Spanish exploitation filmmaker Jesús Franco, starting with La mano de un hombre muerto (1962). In addition, he also did the music for pictures made by directors Pierre Chevalier and León Klimovsky. Moreover, White recorded a large volume of albums under several pseudonyms; said albums include comedy records as Emile Doryphore, rock records as Guy Forlane, and organ music as Virginie Morgane.
An incredibly fast and prolific musician, White was known for recording 12 tracks for an album in a single day. His favorite composers were Debussy and Ravel. Daniel was especially fond of composing for the human voice. Besides composing scores for Franco, White also acted in a handful of Franco's films -- he was usually cast as a police inspector -- and even worked as a production assistant on a few features for Franco during his extremely busy early-1970s period in Portugal. Daniel White died at age 85 on May 24, 1997.- Daniel White was born on 3 April 1964 in Evreux, France. He is an actor, known for Tatort (1970), Cosima's Lexikon (1992) and Wolffs Revier (1992).

A native New Englander, Daniel Lee White developed an early obsession with the performing arts-both in front of the camera and behind-the-scenes. While creating his own homemade films and critiquing most of the movies made during the 1980s with his father, Daniel quickly realized that he wanted to dedicate his life to the arts. His extensive experience focuses on acting, directing, editing, and teaching.
Daniel continues to develop his acting skills through performances in feature and independent films, as well as theatrical works. He has completed many creative roles in films such as Casting Doubt, The Miskatonic Acid Test, McMulligan's Hovel, and Walking Shadows. At the age of twenty-one, he starred in Blood Wedding-an off West End theatrical performance in London. For four years, he was a lead actor in the Providence-based dinner theatre troupe, Murder On Us. As a director, Daniel has broad experience guiding independent films as well as theatrical productions. Used Books, a short film written and directed by Daniel, was an official selection for the 2007 Rhode Island International Film Festival. The Pitch, a 48 Hour Film Project production that Daniel directed, won awards for Audience Favorite and 2nd Runner Up. From 1997 through 2000, he created and directed Reality Check-a theatre troupe at Franklin Pierce College that presents moving skits on teen issues to local schools and community centers. Since 2005, he has also served as the Professional Coordinator and Directing Mentor of summer theatre workshops for the cast of Reality Check.
Besides editing Used Books and The Pitch, Daniel worked for two years at Providence's CBS/Fox Station WPRI/WNAC as Editor of the 5am-7am morning newscast. He has held several positions in behind-the-scenes work, including on films such as Out of the Black, All Shook Up, and Mothman Prophecies. He is also an active board member of the Rhode Island Film Collaborative. Finally, Daniel teaches acting classes for children throughout New England for Performing Arts Programs and filmmaking to youth in Woonsocket, Rhode Island through NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley.
Daniel is a 2000 graduate (Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication and a minor in Theatre Arts) of Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire and currently resides in Providence with his fiancée Kerri and their super rabbit named Emily. He is also the creator and owner of Love Thy Job-a multimedia company dedicated to promoting the arts.- Editorial Department
